This was a project done as a part of a practical exercise to gain some confidence and routine in photoshop. The goal at the end was to get a photomontage consisting of at least five different images. Since I’m a big fan of supernatural and fantastic creatures I decided to go with a dark, scary water scene of a boat being taken over by some creepy mermaids. 

The most time-consuming part was the color adaption and correction on each of the element since most of them were pretty light to begin with and they had to get way darker to fit in the mysterious atmosphere I wanted to create. 

To see the whole process I decided to export some of the layers separately and to assemble a gif out of these layers to have a quick animated overview of the process.
